Frequently Asked Questions

What constitutes a partnership?

There are as many definitions for the word ‘partnership’ as there are types of partnerships. For our purposes however, a partnership may be best described as the fusion of two or more stakeholders to develop, deliver a sustained solution to a shared challenge.

Why partner? Because cross-sector or multi-stakeholder partnerships “provide opportunities for mutual benefit and results beyond what any single organisation could realise alone."

How do I know when to partner? Not every challenge or issue will require a partnership. The decision to partner must be informed by the ‘challenge’ or ‘issue’ being addressed, identified outcomes and shared commitment of stakeholders. Speak to your local Partnership Brokers today about whether a partnership is the most appropriate way of addressing your challenge.

What do partnerships look like?

While every partnership is unique, many partnerships are developed in response to particular social, political and/or economic challenges which inform the way or best model in which particular challenges might be addressed. The ‘challenge’ will inform;

  • potential stakeholders
  • required resources
  • duration
  • partnership model

The benefits achieved and the outcomes gained from partnerships, exponentially increase with the level of stakeholder commitment, motivation and participation. Once again the ‘challenge’ being addressed will inform the level of investment required by stakeholders.
